Pirassununga 51 is world's biggest cachaça brand

Pirassununga 51 was the world’s best selling cachaça in 2012, according to Drinks International’s The Millionaire’s Club 2013.

Pirassununga 51, which declined 1% from 2011 to 2012, sold 18.5m 9-litre cases last year, with Tatuzinho’s Velho Barreiro second in the list of top selling cachacas with 9.2m cases sales.

Ypioca, now owned by Diageo,  was the third biggest cachaça with sales of 6.5m cases in 2012.
