World Whiskies Awards winners announced

The World Whiskies Awards winners were announced at a ceremony in London.

World’s Best Single Malt went to Ardbeg Galileo. World’s Best Blend went to Hibiki 21 year old, World’s Best Blended Malt was Mars Voltage 3 plus 25, 28 year old and World’s Best North American Whiskey went to George T Stagg.

World’s Best Grain Whisky was taken by South African Distell’s Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky and World’s Best Whisky Liqueur went to Master of Malt’s Speyside Whisky Liqueur 40 year old.

Online retailer and brand innovator Master of Malt picked up a raft of awards for its innovation and retail efforts.

The evening was hosted by Whisky Magazine editor Rob Allanson and industry personalities Joel Harrison and Neil Ridley. The trio also welcomed several whisky heavyweights into the Hall of Fame, including Richard Paterson, Jim Rutledge, Jimmy Russell, David Grant and David Urquhart.
