Lataille lands UK Olmeca role

16 August, 2011

Pernod Ricard has appointed bartender and 'tequila expert' Matthias Lataille as UK ambassador for Olmeca Altos.

The drinks group has appointed the Frenchman to boost the 100% agave tequila's presence in the UK and strengthen its position as the ‘margarita tequila’ in the on-trade.

Lataille previously worked as assistant general manager at London’s tequila bar Green & Red and more recently provided training to bartenders around the world as part of The Tahona Society, Olmeca’s category-wide trade education scheme.

Lataille said: “Since joining The Tahona Society team, I have been raising awareness of the tequila category internationally and the unique qualities of Olmeca Altos.

“In this new role, I will focus on the vibrant UK cocktail scene and take Altos to the next level, through continued education of the category.”

Michael Kaller, Olmeca international marketing director, said: “His enthusiasm for tequila, coupled with his work for The Tahona Society, has laid the foundation for a great year ahead.”
