The region has increased its promotional activities in the British market.
Over the past 3 years the Consejo Regulador Navarra has been working in conjunction with the wineries in the region to improve the quality of Rosado wines.
According to Wines of Navarra, they have done this by increasing the number of quality controls during the winemaking process and reducing, by half, the minimum yields of kilos of grapes per litre permitted for every Rosado wine carrying the CRDO Navarra qualification.
Pilar García Granero, president of the CRDO Navarra said: “Navarra has the reputation for making the best Rosados in Spain.
“We are determined to ensure that every bottle produced in the region is made to the highest possible quality standards. We feel that the uplift in sales of our Rosados to the UK market is a reflection of this.”
Rosado 2010 activities include a bespoke tasting of the new vintage Rosados in central London, and in May Navarra will host a seminar on the future of rosé in the UK market at the London International Wine Fair.
