Benromach unveils UK exclusive single cask whisky

30 November, 2016

The Benromach Distillery Company has added a ‘rare’ single cask malt whisky to its range, Benromach Heritage 1973.

Exclusive to the UK market, only 52 bottles of this limited edition will be available. Bottled at 48.1% abv, Heritage 1973, is a dark golden malt, matured in a refill American Hogshead.

The Speyside single malt with ‘hints of dark chocolate and a peppery smooth finish’ is presented in a decanter-style bottle.

The wooden presentation box is said to be inspired by the home of Benromach, reflecting the copper of the stills in use today, as well as the dark, grained wood of the original washbacks and the white of the lime washed distillery walls.

The company says the UK exclusive was distilled before the Urquhart family brought Benromach Distillery back to life in 1998.

Distillery manager Keith Cruickshank said: “Benromach 1973 is very much a dram to be treasured. It was crafted with great care using many of the same skills and practises adopted at Benromach today.

“It’s been maturing for 42 years, but now is the time for whisky lovers to savour this precious single malt. I’m sure those who really take their whisky seriously will enjoy the chance to experience a little bit of Benromach history.”

Benromach 1973 is available at specialist UK whisky retailers with a RRP of £1395.

One of the main attractions of social media is that it allows individuals and small businesses a platform from which they can shout loudly, without the need for the big-buck budgets that the global companies can call on.
