The search is on for next Bols Pioneer

17 October, 2016

Dutch distillery brand Bols is inviting bartenders to compete in its next global bartending competition Bols Around the World: The Bols Genever Edition.

The company, which boasts 20 brands across a range of spirits products, including liqueurs, genever, gin and vodka, says this year, its ninth anniversary, it will go back to its authentic Dutch roots with Bols Genever.

There will be several stages to develop stronger genever knowledge. The winner will attend masterclasses at Tales of the Cocktail in the US and master your ice-carving skills in Japan.

Bols says the Bols Genever Pioneer will be an “all-round bartender with strong commercial acumen. The title winner will demonstrate extensive Bols Genever knowledge, an experimental drive, a courageous spirit and a sense of passion.”

Online heats take place from November with regional finals in February 2017. The grand final will be held in Amsterdam from May 8-10, 2017 where finalists will showcase their Bols Genever concepts in Bols Genever Street in the heart of the city.

Lucas Bols CEO, Huub van Doorne, said: “Pioneering is at the heart of Bols and dates back to the creation of Bols Genever in 1664. BATW, now in its ninth year focuses on inspiration and education and provides an environment for bartenders to grow their international network and showcase their talent.”

To register interest, bartenders simply visit: www.bolsaroundtheworld.com by October 31.
