Age statement-free Glenlivet Alpha launches

07 May, 2013

The Glenlivet, the world’s second best selling single malt Scotch whisky by volume behind Glenfiddich, has launched The Glenlivet Alpha (50%) ABV.

Described by Pernod Ricard as its “mystery expression”, the whisky has no age statement, cask information and tasting notes.

The release numbers 3,500 bottles, priced at $120 each.

It will be available in the US, UK, France, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Andorra, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, India and South Africa

International brand director for The Glenlivet, Nikki Burgess hopes to “create a conversation” about the new release by ”letting consumers have their views”.

The 'truths' of the 'mystery' will be released a month after launch.
