Baron Otard launches its rarest cognac

03 December, 2010

Cognac brand Baron Otard has launched Fortis et Fidelis, describing it as its oldest and rarest expression.

Presented in a handmade crystal carafe, the cognac is available in selected global travel retail outlets and is priced at US$4,500.

Fortis et Fidelis is a tribute to the Baron Otard founder and takes its name form the family motto “Strength and Loyalty”.

Philippe Jouhaud, sales and marketing director for Baron Otard, said: “We are extremely proud of the incredible heritage of Baron Otard so when we decided to create a cognac to celebrate our founder, Baron Jean-Baptiste Otard, we felt that this would be the ideal opportunity to create our ultimate expression.

“For any cognac house, travel retail is of paramount importance and Baron Otard is no exception. It’s crucial that we showcase our very best cognacs to new and existing consumers. We hope Fortis et Fidelis will stop travellers in their tracks.”

According to the Bacardi Travel Retail-owned brand, crystal makers Saint-Louis took three weeks to handcraft each decanter.
