Over 900 wines entered Chardonnay du Monde 2009, with seven countries represented in the top 10.

Over 900 wines entered Chardonnay du Monde 2009, with seven countries represented in the top 10.

The International competition to find the world’s best Chardonnay resulted in a grand gold for Champagne 1st Cru Blanc de Blancs 2004 from Champagne Mandois.

The top ten wines included France’s grand gold medal, England for the highest level of the award list with a sparkling Chardonnay, Spain, South Africa, Canada, Australia and Italy.

300 International judges tasted 923 wines from 37 countries. A total of 307 medals were awarded: 1 Grand Gold, 65 Gold, 187 Silver and 54 Bronze.
