WITH PARIS’ REPUTATION as an epicenter of wines and spirits, Vinexpo organisers hope to establish the exhibition as a “new international landmark” in Paris. Paris is seen as a strategic gateway to the European market and a key crossroads for exchanges and promotion of all French and international regions. Vinexpo claims that by attending “professionals and businesses will optimise their sales potential on a key date for buyers”. As well as France, widely represented, in its international hall Vinexpo and Wine Paris will be hosting 60 wine-producing regions from 20 countries around the world, including Argentina, Austria, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Italy, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK and the US, to name but a few. Some 2,800 exhibitors and 30,000 professionals are expected to attend the first major event in the wine and spirits sector of 2020.

This new event will also feature attractive trend concepts, along with a programme of talks and unmissable masterclasses to properly get to grips with the wines and spirits market. WOW! (World of Organic Wines) will be promoting an international offering of organic and biodynamic wines and spirits in a dedicated area where nearly 150 producers are expected. The focus will be on French wines with the presence of the major French producing areas (Beaujolais, Champagne, Burgundy, Alsace, etc.) alongside other world regions (South Africa, Lebanon, Chile, Germany, Italy, Spain). For the first time, Be Spirits will be bringing together the spirits and mixology sector in a special area with its very own identity. Craft and international brands will rub shoulders with bartenders, importers, distributors, buyers, opinion leaders, major e-commerce brands, restaurant chains, travel retail, duty free, etc.

This event at the Vinexpo show will host Moët Hennessy, Maison Villevert, Sorgin, The National Distillery Company, Cambusier, Distillerie Warenghem and Halewood International, among many others. In addition to the exhibition stands where business meetings will take place, The Infinite Bar and a series of talks on spirits will form the heart of this unique area. The Infinite Bar, as long as an Olympic swimming pool, will showcase 24 brands of spirits in partnership with 24 mixologists from influential Parisian bars.

Resembling a line of shop windows from the most prestigious Paris boutiques, The Avenue will celebrate eight premium brands, all market leaders and looking to stand out in an elegant Parisian setting: Grupo Peñaflor, Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte, Advini, Domaines Paul Mas, Maison Boisset, Marqués de Cáceres, Champagne Deutz and Araex Grands Spanish Fine Wines. Vinexpo Academy will be putting on a programme of tastings and masterclasses led by experts such as Marc Almert, ASI’s 2019 World’s Best Sommelier. Round tables and talks on topics such as e-commerce or largescale retail will be conducted by a range of personalities (economic, political and scientific decision-makers) to decipher the challenges facing the industry, say the organisers.
