The Marqués de Cáceres Group has opened Bodegas Finca La Capilla, a winery in the Ribera del Duero region of Spain as part of its international production and distribution strategy.

The site has nearly 60ha of vines between La Horra, Anguix and Roa growing the Tinta del País grape variety and it will be backed by the Forner family’s experience from their Gran Cru Classé château in Bordeaux, bodegas in Rioja and Rueda and other different markets worldwide.

Bodegas Finca La Capilla will have its own brand and team of viticultural and oenological professionals, which will operate independently based on wines of limited production aimed at specialised and selective distribution circuits.

The vineyards sit in extreme conditions, with an average height of 800m, harsh winters and hot summers. However the soil quality is not only of high quality but varied too and the vineyards are equipped with anti-freeze windmills for protection against frost.
