Hannah Lanfear has been made armagnac educator for the UK and will be working closely with Amanda Garnham of the Bureau National Interprofessionnel de l’Armagnac (BNIA).

Lanfear is an educator for the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and in 2017 she set up The Mixing Class, providing spirits education classes.

Lanfear won Educator of the Year by Imbibe magazine and has already hosted WSET classes on Armagnac at Brooklyn Bar Convent in the US.

As a former bartender at London’s Milk & Honey, Lanfear will be able to share her knowledge of Armagnac with bartenders around the UK through masterclasses and training sessions.

"Since travelling to Gascony during distillation season I have completely fallen for this historic brandy,” said Lanfear.

“Not only is it an immensely interesting spirit to study the production of, it has a wonderful depth of flavour and is utterly enigmatic in a cocktail. I am thrilled to be able to share the story of armagnac in London.”
