The Macallan treasures World Whisky Day

19 May, 2018

Scotch whisky brand The Macallan believes that World Whisky Day, May 19, is more than just a consumer trend but an opportunity to spread its story.

The Macallan, which calls itself the world’s most prestigious single malt, is set to open its new distillery on June 2, working alongside Easter Elchies House, where The Macallan has been made for the past 200 years.

Scott McCroskie, managing director, The Macallan said: “At The Macallan we believe any opportunity to tell the story of whisky should be taken seriously because it's a vast and fascinating industry with so many stories to tell - ours alone started back in 1824 and features a few world records along the way to becoming the world's most valuable single malt.

“The Macallan is well-loved across the globe and being able to educate people about our whisky, whether dedicated fans or complete newcomers, is a privilege we savour, especially on days like World Whisky Day."

Owned by the Edrington Group, The Macallan is a Speyside single malt whisky brand best known for its 12 year-old expressions.
