Rye whiskey producer Templeton Rye has announced plans to open a new distillery in Iowa, US.

Templeton Rye hopes to have the new distillery completed within 18 months and it will have the ability to produce 500,000 proof gallons of rye whiskey each year.

Keith Kerkhoff, Templeton Rye co-founder, said: “Our company is laser-focused on bringing the history and spirit of the community of Templeton, Iowa, to life through Templeton Rye whiskey.

“We’re proud to share ‘The Good Stuff’ with whiskey lovers around the Hawkeye State and the country.”

Templeton Rye whiskey was introduced legally in 2006, and the new 34,500 square feet distillery will also have an aging warehouse capable of storing 40,000 barrels.
