The Terra Nostra wines have been created specifically for European markets, a new territory for the Chilean producer, with blending and label design overseen by company founder, Peter Crameri.
The Varietal range will initially comprise a Sauvignon-Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Carmenère and Cabernet-Sauvignon. The Reserva is made up of oaked single varietals and a Cabernet-Syrah, with a Pais rosé and Petit Verdot red in the pipeline from the 2016 vintage.
Crameri said: “Viña Santa Irene are a seriously successful 2.5 million case winery dedicated, up to now, to producing good quality bulk wines for a number of Chile’s leading players. They recently decided to establish their own branded and bottled business in Europe and we’ve been working with them for the last few months, using European benchmarking, to come up with the right product style and concept, tailor-made where necessary.”
Viña Santa Irene - established in 1939 - sources grapes from Valle Central and Curico Valley in Chile.
The Varietals (RRP £6.99) and Reserva (RRP £8.99) ranges will be available to the Independent, On-Trade and Duty Free sectors in the UK & Ireland, Benelux, Germany, Denmark and the Scandinavian monopolies from April.
