Beam Suntory to sell Spanish brandies?

03 September, 2015

Beam Suntory is considering the sale of its brandies in Spain amid declining sales, according to Bloomberg News.

The sale would include brands such as Centenario, Fundador, Terry 1900, Tres Cepas and Terry Centenario. They may fetch about €100 million ($112m), reports Bloomberg’s Manuel Baigorri.

He said no final decision has been made but sales of brandy have declined in Spain as younger people shift to other alcoholic drinks including gin or whisky.

He said Beam Suntory declined to comment on the rumour.
