Diageo whiskies shine in San Francisco

Diageo whisk(e)y brands have done well at the 14th annual San Francisco World Spirits Competition, securing 29 medals in total.

The competition was held in March and the judging panel, are described as independent professionals from the drinks and hospitality sector in the US.

In Scotch, Irish and Canadian whisk(e)y, Diageo brands won multiple medals. Bushmills Irish whiskey and Johnnie Walker blended Scotch won six medals each, collecting a double gold and two gold medals each. Bulleit Bourbon won four medals including two gold, while Buchanan’s blended Scotch received three medals, bringing home two double gold medals and one gold.

Johnnie Walker Double Black Blended Scotch Whisky was awarded “Best Blended Scotch Up to 15 Years” and Lagavulin 16 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky was awarded “Best Distillers Single Malt Scotch – 13 to 19 Years.”

Talisker Storm Single Malt Scotch Whisky, launched globally in 2013, also won Double Gold.
