India Bar Show cancelled

25 October, 2012

The India Bar Show, due to take place in Delhi from October 26-27, was cancelled.

An update on the show’s Facebook page read: “Due to licensing issues, the India Bar Show has been postponed till further notice. Any inconvenience caused is regretted.”

Show creator, Douglas Ankrah, was contacted by Drinks International about the show’s cancellation, but at the time of publishing (Thursday October 25), he had not responded.

Nick Andrews, director of glassware company Urban Bar, said:  "It should have been pulled a few weeks ago at least. An Indian show is possible and, [if] well managed, could be really good for the market.

"It is a pain for us even though we were coming to India for other business. We would not have two empty days and potential lost costs and expenses. We would also have chosen another time to come."
