South Africa/Ireland: Jameson launches new expression

28 October, 2010

Irish whiskey Jameson has launched a new expression in South Africa. Jameson Select Reserve is made from a blend of small batch grain whiskey, not found in any other Jameson expression, and single Irish pot still whiskey.

The triple-distilled grain whiskey is matured in Oloroso sherry and bourbon oak casks before being blended with single Irish pot-still whiskey.

Irish Distillers’ Pernod Ricard CEO, Alex Ricard said: “Jameson has enjoyed a compound annual growth rate of 24% in South Africa over the last 10 years, making it an increasingly important market for the brand. The launch of Jameson Select Reserve reflects our ongoing commitment to building Jameson in South Africa.”

The Jameson Select Reserve small batch release will be available from selected outlets in South Africa with an RRP of R275.
