Brugal repackages rum

30 September, 2010

Global: Edrington Group has repackaged its Brugal rum, Añejo. The new design is said to reinforce the brand’s authenticity and reputation as the only rum distilled, matured and bottled in the Dominican Republic.

The revamped bottles will launch in Spain in October, UK in November and a global roll out will follow.

Brugal describes the 70cl bottle as having a simplified design that features an eyebrow logo, embossing on both sides of the bottle and label protection to prevent scuffing.

Karen Dobie, Brugal brand manager at Maxxium, UK distributors of two of the brand’s expressions, said: “This new look for Brugal Añejo really sets it apart from its rivals and reinforces its authenticity and Dominican heritage.”

Brugal Extra Viejo’s is to be repackaged next year.
