Glencadam adds three new malts

16 July, 2010

Not content with adding one new whisky to an award winning range, Angus Dundee Distillers has released three new expressions of its Glencadam Highland Single Malt.

Positioned in between the existing 10 and 15 Year Old Glencadam bottlings are a new 12 Year Old “Rather Refined” Portwood Finísh and 14 Year Old “Rather Enriched” Oloroso Sherry Cask Finísh. And bolstering the top end of the range comes “The exceptional” 21 Year Old edition.

Brand development director Duncan Baldwin said: “We are fortunate enough to be able to produce excellent malt at Glencadam, so whether it is the wonderfully coppery pale rosé colour and handsome port-whisky balance on the palate of the Portwood Finish, the sophisticated mix of vanilla and sherry sweetness of the Sherry Cask Finish, or the floral orange citrus and candied peel tones of the 21 Year Old, we believe we offer across these three new product releases, a taste to meet the most discerning of whisky lovers’ preferences.”

The new Glencadams are available in limited quantities from July 2010. Initially, they will sell in mainstream western European markets and the US. It is envisaged that the 12 Year Old Portwood Finish will retail in the region of £39.99 a bottle in the UK and €45.99 in Europe; the14 Year Old Sherry Cask Finish for around £42.99 in the UK and € 49.99 in Europe; and the 21 Year Old for £55.99 in the UK and €64.50 in Europe.

Launched for the first time commercially in 2005, Glencadam was relaunched in 2008 with a revised cask selection policy.
