See you at Vinexpo

19 June, 2009

Next week is Vinexpo week. It’s the largest biennial wine and spirits show in the world. A record 48 countries will be represented and there will be 20 national pavilions including Sweden, Poland, Egypt and Brazil.

Vinexpo chief executive Robert Beynat said: “We are fully booked because the professionals know that in difficult times, business demands extra effort.”

The entire Drinks International team will be there – look out for us.

Here’s a preview of some exciting launches:

Hine is launching a a new Cognac. The Jarnac-based brand is set to launch Antinque XO Premier Cru. The original Antique was created by Georges Thomas Hine. Antique XO Premier Cru is composed of 40 Cognacs, each made from grapes grown in Grande Champagne. Each cognac is aged for a minimum of 10 years - some for several decades. Visit Hine at the CL Worldbrands stand (no. v339, Hall 3).

Fitou cooperative Mont Tauch will be serving up a selection of its new roses on stand 49 in Hall 1 at their specially designed rosé bar. Mont Tauch will be offering a number of different southern French, award winning  rosés from places like Corbières, Collioure and Côtes de Provence.

Quartier Français Spiritueux’s La Mauny will unveil two rums - La Mauny Extra Rubis and La Mauny Extra Saphir. The rums are a result of cuvee blends: Rubis’s oldest are aged 30 years and Saphir’s 15 years.

The La Mauny brand is already exported to 30 countries and the company believes La Mauny Extra meets the demands of high-potential markets where is not yet sold - such as Russia, China and the US. Find them in Hall 1, stand AB306.

Croatian wine umbrella company Diwine will be making its debut at Vinexpo and launching a range of selected, award-winning Croatian wines from across the country. Visitors to Diwine’s stand X321 in Hall 3 will be able to try a wide range of wines and styles from all of Croatia’s wine regions: Istria and the island of Krk, central Dalmatia, Dubrovnik and Peliešac and the continental region.
