TFWA Cannes visitors down 13%

The Tax Free World Association has announced that visitors to its recent trade exhibition in Cannes, were down 13% this year.


 

A total of 5,013 visitors attended the show this year. At the beginning of the show, president Erik Juul-Mortensen, said that pre-registrations were down 8%.

The association said the number of companies sending executives was 2,517, 11% down. The number of duty free and travel retail operating companies was stable but they sent fewer representatives (9%).

The 463 exhibiting companies represented approximately 3,000 brands from every category supplying duty free and travel retail outlets in airports, airlines, ferries, cruise lines, cross border and downtown stores worldwide. Wines and spirits comprised 22% of total exhibitors.
