Distell, South Africa’s leading wine, spirits and cider company, is gearing up to punch above its weight.

International wine, spirit and cider producer, Distell has sponsored reigning European Rugby
Champions, Saracens with its Savanna Dry cider.

A one-off release of what is claimed to be South Africa’s oldest brandy, a 42-year-old single cask pot still from Distell’s Van Ryn’s brand, was sold at the recent Nederburg Charity Auction for R40,000 (US$3,000, £2,260, €2,600).

Distell has announced the appointment of Angus Upton as its global brand ambassador for its single malts portfolio.

The South African-based Distell Group reports that it has raised revenue by 10.4% to 19.6 billion rand on a sales volume increase of 5.7% for the 12 months to June 30, 2015.

Distell has made two top management changes to accommodate expansion in global travel retail and Taiwan.

Kingsland, the specialist UK fillers, packers and bulk wine shippers has added FirstCape and Distell to its South African portfolio, as part of a strategic partnership with wine brand builders, Brandphoenix.

Distell has announced the addition of a new wine range - 56  Hundred - to its Nederburg wine portfolio. 

Distell, Africa's largest producer of wines, spirits, ciders and RTDs, has reported 12.8% growth in revenue and a 3.1% increase in sales volume for the year to June 2014. 

Distell Group has agreed a deal to acquire a 26% stake in KWA Holding East Africa Limited (KHEAL), a leading spirits manufacturer, bottler and distributor in Kenya.

South Africa’s Distell Group has bought Scotch whisky firm Burn Stewart Distillers from CL World Brands and  Angostura Limited for £160m (R2.2bn).

Distell has announced the launch of sparkling white wine, JC Le Roux Le Domaine, to the UK market.

Distell, South Africa’s leading wine and spirits producer, has reported a 15% growth in revenue for the year to June 2012 and a 9.9% increase in sales volumes across its portfolio of wines, spirits and RTDs in both domestic and international markets.
