Drinks International Travel Retail Awards winners announced

Drinks International has announced the winners of its Travel Retail Awards.

The ceremony was held during TFWA Cannes. The awards aim to recognise the best launches, marketing, packaging and retailers in the world of travel retail.

The winner of the best launch at Cannes was Drambuie for the Royal Legacy of 1745. Highly commended went to Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte for Cuvee 225 Rose.

Best travel retail packaging/repackaging went to Remy Cointreau for Piper Heidsieck Rare 1999. MG Cellars Chabot Extra was highly commended, as was Scapa malt whisky from Chivas Brothers.

Best marketing/in-store promotion went to Diageo and Kavanagh Communications for Johnnie Walker Centenary. The pair were also awarded highly commended for their Summer Spirit campaign, which was focused around the first drink of the holiday. Patron Spirits International were also highly commended for their Patron Tequila cocktail campaign.

Best travel retail drinks launch 2009 went to Remy Cointreau for Piper Heidsieck Rare 1999. The Balvenie 14 year old Golden Cask from William Grant & Sons.

Travel retail drinks buyer of the year went to Brooke Supernaw from DFS Group, Hong Kong.

Finally, the travel retail operator of the year went to Maritime Mercantile International.
