Glen Garioch steps up duty free focus

Morrison Bowmore Distillers has launched a travel retail-exclusive Glen Garioch single malt whisky.

The Glen Garioch 1997 is the first whisky to be released from the brandís Oldmeldrum distillery since it was reopened in 1997 after being mothballed for two years.

The new whisky, which will be available at leading European airports and onboard Scandinavian ferry lines, begins a 12-month push by Morrison Bowmore to raise the brandís profile in duty free.

Quantities of Glen Garioch 1997 will be initially limited to 1,000 cases. The whisky has a recommended retail price of £49.99.
