Kingsland appoints Guy Young

21 March, 2014

Kingsland Wine & Spirits has appointed former HwCg md Guy Young as commercial director.

He replaces Rob Page who is moving to Bavaria UK as managing director.

Young, who has been working as a consultant for the Manchester-based company, takes up his new position next Monday (March 24) and will initially share the role with Page to ensure a smooth handover.

Managing director Andy Sagar said: “Guy’s consultancy work has been instrumental in our recent growth - both of Kingsland and our agency division, Legacy Wines.”

Young has been involved in the UK wine trade for more than 30 years, notably as managing director of HwCg until the agency was purchased by PLB in 2010. Since then, Young has worked as business strategy director for TFC Wines & Spirits and consulted for a number of companies, including Kingsland.

Young said: “At HwCg, we were passionate about wine, dynamic and completely customer and consumer focused. These values are also held at Kingsland and I’m delighted to be joining the team at such a crucial stage in the company’s development.”

Established 50 years ago, Kingsland Wines & Spirits are specialists in UK bottling, packaging and bulk wine shipping. In 2012, the purchase of aspects of the Stratford’s business gave Kingsland the opportunity to build on its existing agency business, Legacy Wines.
