Kammerling's becomes Kamm & Sons

17 January, 2012

Ginseng spirit brand owner Alex Kammerling is to rebrand his drink following a “legal issue” with German brand Kuemmerling.

Kammerling’s botanical spirit will now be known as Kamm & Sons.

A statement from the company said: “What initially seemed like a blow to the huge success of the brand since its launch last April, the re-brand – which has come about due to a legal issue with a similar brand in Germany (Kuemmerling) – has provided Alex with an opportunity for further brand development.”

Kammerling said: ‘‘Apart from being able to build the brand internationally without fear of trademark infringement, the new brand name gives me the chance to tell a story about my ancestry and my family’s involvement in the business.”

Alex’s father sits on the board of directors, his brother is the Kamm & Sons designer and his cousin developed the website.

Kammerling also said that his great grandfather once worked as a confectioner, specialising in herbal remedies.
