Baltika goes to Norway

10 August, 2009

Russian beer Baltika is now available in Norway.

Carlsberg’s Baltika №7 Export beer will be available in 0.33 litre bottles. The first batch made its way from the St. Petersburg brewery at the end of July.

In Norway, the product is positioned as a super premium brand and the average cost of one 0.33 litre bottle is 60 Norwegian krones (more than €6.50).

Sales will be concentrated in Oslo, the country’s capital.

Baltika №7 Export is supplied to Norwegian on-premise outlets. This is due to local legislation that bans selling products over 4.7%abv in shops. Alcohol content of Baltika №7 Export is 5.4%.

The official distributor of Baltika’s beer in Norway is Ringnes A/S. The company occupies 52% of the Norwegian market, and like Baltika Breweries, it is a part of theCarlsberg Group. Ringnes A/S owns four production sites in Norway.
