WSET Dent at TerraVina

16 May, 2014

Two of Britain’s leading wine experts have joined forces to offer a WSET entry-level wine award in a beautiful setting in southern England.

This year’s WSET Riedel Educator of the Year, Erica Dent, will guide participants through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) entry-level Level 1 award in wines at the Hotel TerraVina in southern England’s New Forest.

The Hotel TerraVina is owned and run by the internationally well known wine expert Gerard Basset OBE, MS, MW, Wine MBA and a Sommelier World Champion. Basset is the WSET’s current honorary president.

The course is a well trodden starting point for learning about wine. It includes a tutored tasting of seven wines and a food and wine pairing workshop. The course is aimed at novice wine enthusiasts who want to understand more or those wishing to start a career in the wine or hospitality business.

Dent was awarded the Riedel Trophy in recognition of her teaching skills and is said to be a sought-after tutor in London and across the south of England.

Basser said: “We are delighted to be hosting the WSET at our hotel. Erica is a fantastic tutor and we are privileged to have her host a course here at TerraVina.”
