22 January, 2013

Specialist bottler, Cobevco will be offering ‘bag-in-box’ as part of its beverage filling capabilities from the end of May.

The move, which follows a £2 million investment by the contract packer in its Cheshire plant.

The installation of a new Rapak filling machine will allow Cobevco to fill a minimum of 200,000 litres of wine each week in bag-in-box format.

Cobevco managing director Adrian Curry, said: “By adding this capability to our services, we can give producers the variety of filling solutions that they need to satisfy retailers and consumers in the UK.

“It also opens up growth opportunities further afield in markets such as Scandinavia, where bag-in-box is already well established with consumers,” he said

This announcement comes weeks after Cobevco appointed master of wine, Justin Knock, as its winemaking consultant.
