Max Venning: A new oasis

06 November, 2018

Two months after Max opened the venue, originally called Between The Sheets, Noel moved down to help out with a refit and the bar reopened as Three Sheets during London Cocktail Week in 2016.

“Opening a bar is the most exciting thing I’ve ever done,” says Venning. “I loved doing it for Drink Factory and I love it when we do it. For me the most exciting part is the design and concept of the bar, but I will never forget the feeling of opening the doors for the first time. It is the most terrifying thing ever because you worry that nobody will come in.

“Noel and I were talking recently about how everything has just fallen into place. That’s not to say we haven’t worked hard because we absolutely have.

“The industry is a lot more respected now so Noel and I are relaxed about telling people what we do. We just make good drinks for people – it’s not rocket science.”

Since Oasis broke up nearly a decade ago, Noel Gallagher and his brother Liam have gone in different directions, not nearly hitting the same heights as their legendary band.

But with a new bar due later this year in London, the Venning brothers’ reputation could Live Forever.
