Alcobrew targets top-5 of Indian spirits makers

20 May, 2016

Indian spirits manufacturer Alcobrew has announced its ambitions to become one of the top 5 spirits companies in India by 2020.

Currently companies such as Diageo's United Spirits, Pernod Ricard, Allied Blenders & Distillers, John Distillers and Radico Khaitan dominate the market.

Alcobrew produces White & Blue, which in 2015 was the second fastest growing spirit in the world, with an increase of 184% to 1.2m 9-litre cases.

The group doubled revenues over the last year and plans another 20% increase over the next 12 months.

Alcobrew's brands (which also include Golfer’s Shot and White Hills whiskies) are present in more than 20 states across India, with production based in Derabassi, Punjab.

The group told DI: “This high performing manufacturing unit has significantly contributed towards creating and retaining Alcobrew's strong presence in the domestic and international market.”
