Irish Distillers’ chairman and CEO Anna Malmhake and Jameson global brand director, Daniel Lundberg and master distiller at Midleton, Brian Nation, formally launched the new initiative at the Old Jameson Distillery yesterday (March 12).
Visitors can personally fill a bottle of Jameson Select Reserve Black Barrel Cask Strength from a live bourbon cask. They can then personalise the label by hand with their name, the date and the whiskey’s cask number and ABV, before logging their personal details in a ‘Bottle Your Own’ ledger. It costs of €100 for 70cl.
With global demand for Irish whiskey continuing to rise, the strategy behind Jameson Bottle Your Own is to increase understanding of the provenance and quality of Irish whiskeys and particularly those made at Midleton.
Jameson Select Reserve Black Barrel Cask Strength is available at its natural cask strength for the first time and exclusively through the Bottle Your Own facilities in Dublin and Cork.
Jameson is the number one best selling Irish whiskey in the world, selling more than four million 9-litre cases worldwide.
As well as Jameson, Irish Distillers also produces Paddy, Powers, the Prestige Collection of single pot still whiskeys Green Spot, Yellow Spot, Redbreast, and Midleton Very Rare.
