Bacardí Legacy UK entries open with new format

03 July, 2019

UK entries are now open for Bacardí Legacy 2020, one of the world’s largest international cocktail competitions.

The UK competition now has a Legacy ambassador programme consisting of seven former Legacy finalists who will advise bartenders looking to enter.

UK brand ambassador Metinee Kongsrivilai said: “Bringing former Legacy competitors into the mix from such as early stage will help to further support, educate, inspire and drive creativity among competitors.”

In addition to creating a new cocktail recipe, successful entrants must also carry out a cocktail campaign comprised of seven challenges to measure their ability to drive the visibility of their drink and acumen for commercial success.

UK entries will close on 15 August and successful entrants will go into regional heats across London, Glasgow and Manchester later this year.

Winning cocktails will be selected from each region and the UK finalists will travel to New York and Puerto Rico, where they will visit the Bacardí distillery and compete for a spot in the global final.

This year the competition has also introduced a new ‘wildcard’ entry that will allow bartenders from all over the world enter, regardless of whether their country currently participates.

Forty bartenders will then compete for the global title and one spot will be taken by the winner of the new wildcard entry channel.

Ambassadors include:
