Founded by Philip Cox and his wife Elvira in 1998, Cramele Recas sold around 17m, 75 cl bottles in 2017, which according to Philip Cox, is a 25% increase.
For the UK market, Philip Cox, commercial director Cramele Recas, is working with Aldi to deliver Pinot Noir, Malbec and Pinot Grigio ranges in 37.5cl wine bottles.
“We have noticed a growing trend with customers buying into the 37.5cl size,” said Cox. “This size offers an extra level of choice for consumers, particularly at mid-week when they may not choose to buy a full size 75cl bottle.”
Noctillio, a premium Chardonnay from Transylvania is also launching in Aldi in the early part of 2018.
Wildflower, is a new range being launched for Spar UK beginning with a Pinot Noir and a Pinot Grigio with plans to extend into other varietals including a super premium Cuvee Blanc Reserva 2017 for European markets.
“2017 has been an exceptionally busy year building on our current ranges and developing new wines,” added Cox.
“We are excited about the 2017 vintage which will include a new Selene Merlot 2017 and 2017 Sole Orange natural wine.
“Our wines are gaining recognition worldwide which is particularly rewarding and we expect 2018 to be even better than 2017.”
Cramele Recas will also be showing limited edition single vineyard Chardonnay from a micro parcel ‘La Sterarii’ which will be available to taste.
2017 Pinot Grigio will be released at the show to extend the Daciana range, joining the existing Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, which is distributed in the UK.
New for Corney & Barrow on trade, Cramele Recas is launching a premium brand ‘Sanziana’ with a 2017 Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio.
