16 August, 2013

Vodka brand Absolut has opened its first 'brand store' at Kuala Lumpur International airport.

The store forms part of the airport's new shopping area and it is the only spirits brand to open an exclusive store.

"This is the first brand store that Absolut has ever opened, so it’s a great and historical moment for us,” said Paul Duffy, CEO, The Absolut Company.

Anders Olsson, director of The Absolut Company global travel retail added: "It’s yet another testament to the unique brand and image building qualities of our global duty free/ travel retail market."

The 45 square metre store features a bespoke bar as well as a variety of digital experiences and a lounge area.

The Absolut Company has partnered Eraman Duty Free for this initiative, which is said to have a "long and successful brand building history with Pernod Ricard".

Con Constandis, managing director of Pernod Ricard Asia Travel Retail said: "We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to execute this pioneering endeavour in Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

“Eraman has been a great partner for breaking boundaries in the duty free/travel retail market. Our conviction is that this will be a transforming experiment for the Absolut brand while enhancing the traveling experience for our consumers.”

The Absolut Brand Store in Kuala Lumpur International Airport is a collaboration between The Absolut Company, Pernod Ricard Asia Travel Retail and Eraman Duty Free.
