McGuigan Wines has teamed up with TV chef John Torode to work on a new wine and food matching project that will be announced in the New Year.

The aim of the project that will aim to help demystify the trial and tribulations of food and wine matching for consumers.

“Whilst we can’t reveal much about the project just yet we are absolutely delighted to be working with John Torode on this new venture,” said McGuigan chief winemaker, Neil McGuigan. “Following the success last year of the 'What’s my style?' in-store campaign we felt the next move was to try and get to grips with the whole food and wine matching conundrum.”

Torode, who was co-host of BBC TV’s Masterchef series, is a fellow Australian born in the Hunter Valley, home of McGuigan Wines.

“It is great to get the chance to work with a winemaker like Neil who is passionate about how good food can enhance the flavours of wines when paired together correctly,” said Torode.

“I am really excited about this new initiative which aims to make food and wine matching approachable and fun for everyday consumers."

Details of the launch will be revealed in early 2013.
