05 January, 2012

Budvar has reported record export results for 2011.

The Czech-based brewer said exports were up 7.8% year on year to over 650,000 hectolitres, exported to 60 countries. According to the company, this is the best result in its 116 year history.Budvar exports justover half of its production.

The company reported a 5.5% rise in overall output to 1,320,00 hectolitres. According to Budvar, overall Czech beer production was only up 1% in 2011.

Renata Pankova, Budvar executive responsible for foreign sales development, said these results emphasise “the growing preference of drinkers worldwide for craft brewed quality beers with provenance over the mass produced products of international brewing”.

Budvar said that the UK, Germany, Poland and Slovakia made major contributions to the brewery’s 2011 success.
