English sparkling wine is best in the world

Ridgeview, a sparkling wine from southern England, is the best sparkling wine in the world over £10, according to the Decanter World Wine Awards.

The family-owned and run, Sussex-based winery, beat the likes of Taittinger and Charles Heidsieck with its Grosvenor Blanc de Blancs 2006 to win Decanter's International Trophy for Sparkling Wine Over £10.

More than 10,000 wines were entered into the competition, including more than 700 sparkling wines
