Diageo plans Talisker distillery demolition and rebuild

15 October, 2024

Diageo has proposed a redevelopment of the Talisker distillery, which will see the previous facilities demolished if plans are approved.

Based on the Isle of Skye, the distillery was founded in 1830 but is set to see a redesign by the spirits giant.

Diageo made a proposal of application notice (PAN) last week which includes expanding its existing output with the construction of a new distillery with sustainable technologies. The proposal also noted new access, drainage, outfall, road improvement and landscape works along with the demolition of existing facilities.

The distillery opened its new visitor centre in August 2022 (pictured), which was part of Diageo’s £185 million investment in Scotch tourism.
