Rémy Cointreau opens Singapore office

Rémy Cointreau International has opened its worldwide headquarters for its global travel retail business and the regional headquarters for its domestic business in Asia in Singapore.

Rémy Cointreau International opened formally its worldwide headquarters for the company’s global travel retail business and the regional headquarters for its domestic business in Asia in Singapore yesterday (May 26).

Rémy Cointreau board chairman Dominique Heriard Dubreuil said: “Our vision and strategy to deliver premium quality, backed by the inimitable heritage of our brands have earned us the trust of customers around the world. This faith has allowed us to grow and establish a significant presence in more than 150 countries worldwide. Today, with the opening of Rémy Cointreau International in Singapore, we are ready to deepen our relationships with our customers in this region.”

Rémy chief executive Jean-Marie Laborde said: “Singapore was a clear choice for Rémy Cointreau with an ideal geographical location and excellent transport infrastructure, an enviable reputation in conducting business and far-sighted government policies which encourage foreign businesses to choose this location as their base.”

Peter Sant, managing director Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail will lead the worldwide duty free and travel retail team from the new office in Singapore with Regional Directors in key markets: Joel Lafon, based in Hong Kong covering Asia Pacific; Matthew Hodges in Paris looking after Europe; Francois van Aal in Miami in charge of the Americas.

Having recently returned from the US visiting both Oakland and Arizona Cocktail Weeks I was amazed by the differences in approach. In Oakland there was a much bigger trade focus and it felt more relaxed, whereas in Arizona it was one massive party for consumers.
