UK: London-based brewer Fuller, Smith & Turner  has appointed the former chief executive of Scottish and Newcastle as a non executive director.

John Dunsmore was chief executive of S&N prior to its takeover by Heineken and Carlsberg last year. He was recently appointed chief executive of C&C Group, makers of Magners Irish cider.

Michael Turner, Chairman of Fuller’s, said: “There is little doubt that 2009 will be one of the toughest years any of us has faced and having someone of John’s calibre on the team can only serve to strengthen our position as industry leaders and our ability to capitalise on any opportunities the downturn may present.”
