DI reveals world's fastest growing spirits brand

Indian Whiskey brand Bangalore Malt is the world’s fastest growing spirit with 82% growth, according to Drinks International’s Millionaires’ Club 2017.

Bangladore Malt is owned by John Distilleries and its sales almost doubled to two million 9-litre cases in 2016, making it the 12th largest Indian whiskey brand in the world by volumes sold.

Tsarskaya/Imperial vodka of Ladoga Group came second after recording 51% growth in 2016 and another Indian whiskey brand 8PM came third showing 38% growth in the same year.

Kalina Krasnaya vodka of Status Group showed the fastest decline after losing 52% of its sales, or 1.3 million 9-litre cases in 2016 with Contessa rum finishing second after recording a 27% decline in sales.
