Independent Scottish craft brewer, BrewDog, has recorded a £72m turnover for 2016, an annual turnover growth of 60%.

BrewDog is one of the fastest growing craft beers globally, surpassing US craft breweries such as Lagunitas, Ballast Point and Stone Brewing. The brand’s total UK sales increased by 97% in 2016 with Punk IPA remaining the most sold craft beer in the UK with sales increasing by 130%.

Throughout 2016 BrewDog shipped 214,000HL of beer to its UK market with an additional 65m bottles shipped worldwide and the BrewDog team also unveiled a new 300HL brewing site in Scotland and opened eight new bars across the UK and Europe.

In April 2017 BrewDog was valued at £1bn, following a £213m investment from TSG Consumer Partners, and plans to expand its brewery and bars network even further this year.
