Luxardo makes cherries blossom in Italy

Luxardo has extended its estate of cherry orchards in northern Italy with 2,000 trees to compentase for a UK sales boom.

The Campo Tramonte orchard now has more than 30,000 Marasca cherry trees and owners Cellar Trends announced that the UK sales of Luxardo Maraschino cocktail cherries have increased by 78% over the past year.

Craig Chapman, marketing manager for Luxardo at Cellar Trends, said: “Luxardo Maraschino is the maraschino of choice in virtually every top cocktail bar.

“Sales of these cherries are also booming thanks to consumers entertaining at home – for both cocktail making and culinary use, as inspired by celebrity chefs.”

The Luxardo range in the UK comprises of sambuca, sambuca liqueurs, Amaretto, Limoncello and three cherry products: Luxardo Maraschino (32% abv), Luxardo Sangue Morlacco (30% abv) and Luxardo Maraschino Cocktail Cherries (400g jar).
