Ballantine's Golf Club unveiled ahead of Scottish Open

10 July, 2014

Pernod Ricard’s Chivas Brothers has unveiled its new online marketing platform, The Ballantine’s Golf Club, ahead of today’s Scottish Open.

Aimed at connecting with golf enthusiasts around the world, the Club is ‘captained’ by British golfer Ian Poulter and is centred around the website Ballantinesgolfclub.com that will offer video blogs, tips, and exclusive benefits and offers to its members.

The website will be active from October.

Peter Moore, brand director of Ballantine’s, told DI the creation of a club represented a strengthening of the brand’s association to the sport.

He said: “We wanted to get away from just sponsoring events. We wanted to keep the dialogue going with the golf community out there. We will continue to sponsor events but the number of people you can connect with at an event is restricted.”

Moore added that the Club would engage with Asian golf enthusiasts in particular and said the Club would offer members the chance to access exclusive golf courses and will be supported by events in Asia and Europe.

Limited ‘golf course’ editions will also be created in conjunction with the Club.
