09 July, 2012

Rémy Cointreau has entered talks to buy Islay distillery Bruichladdich.

The Cognac-headquartered company announced this morning that it has “entered into exclusive negotiations with the shareholders of the Bruichladdich Distillery Company with a view to possibly acquiring its entire share capital”.

The statement from Rémy continued: “In the event of a favorable outcome of negotiations, the signing of an agreement will remain subject to information and authorisation procedures in accordance with current regulations.”
