Last night (Tuesday December 3), I attended a tasting of Balblair vintages. We tasted five whiskies, 2003, 1997, 1990, 1983 and 1969, prefaced by a glass of Balblair’s base spirit.
Smith has over 15 years of experience in the UK and Barbados drinks industries, including bartending stints at Brompton Brands’ London bars Mahiki and Brompton Club.
Smith said: “My role is to help build the Mount Gay Rum brand, maximise distribution across channels - especially in the on trade - and increase rate of sale.
“I am really looking forward to working on the Mount Gay Rum portfolio, which includes its flagship Eclipse as well as Extra Old and the super premium 1703 Rare Cask.”
Based in London, Miguel will run marketing initiatives including training programmes designed to help sales teams, outlet managers, bartenders, waiters, distributors and off-trade personnel maximise profits.
