Vinos de Madrid to hold first London tasting

Vinos de Madrid, will hold its first ever trade tasting in London on Wednesday July 1.

Spanish appellation, CRDO [Consejo Regulador Denominacion de Origen] Vinos de Madrid, will hold its first ever trade tasting in London on Wednesday July 1.

The 'Magic of Madrid' tasting aims to showcase the region’s wines and it marks the launch of a new UK-wide promotional campaign to build distribution, predominantly in the independent sector and on-trade.

Madrid claims to be the only world capital to lend its name to an appellation. Vinos de Madrid was formally awarded DO status in 1990 and is made up of 45 boutique wineries, producing wines from Spanish varieties - such as Tempranillo, Garnacha and Torrontes - and indigenous Madrilenian varieties, Malvar and Albillo.

Eight wineries will present their ranges and Spanish wine specialist, John Radford, will host a tutored tasting and seminar to explain more about what the region has to offer. For further information: vinosdemadrid@westburycom.co.uk
